Simone and Alicia received their California Department of Insurance License

September 3, 2015 / Newport Beach, CA

Pence Wealth Management’s very own, Simone Pope and Alicia Poteet, received their License in Life, & Accident/Health a few weeks ago. Their journey towards earning this achievement was due in part to their diligent focus and preparation leading up to their test day.

Citing the CDI 2013 annual report, roughly “59% of examinees” pass their Life and Health/Accident out of 20,000 test applicants that year. Life and Health/Accident Insurance examination applications represent close to 1/3 of the entire CDI examinations scheduled, where year-to-year from ’12-’13, applications increased 2%.

“We were excited that Pence was able to provide us this opportunity to further our education and expand our knowledge in insurance,” said Simone and Alicia.

The girls began their prep at Kaplan University, where they dove into their 52 hours of licensing education. In about a week, they were ready to take their exam. A process that has been positively affected by new policy changes the CDI initiated in ’13 to “streamline processing, create new examination sites, update curriculum.. ” and more.

Since 1868, the California Department of Insurance (CDI) has been the agency in charge with overseeing insurance regulations, enforcing statutes mandating consumer protection, educating consumers, and fostering the stability of insurance markets in CA.

“I truly believe in fostering our future through supporting educational activities, and am even more excited about Simone and Alicia’s recent achievement,” said PWM Chief Investment Officer, Col. Dryden Pence III.
